Director of Operations

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Must have:

• 5+ years running operations in a professional services, advisory, private equity, or law firm environment
• Chief of staff, director of operations, practice manager, or business manager
• Direct experience running an operating cadence (EOS/Traction, 4DX, OKRs, or a homegrown equivalent).
• Documentation and process discipline
• Working command of a deal or relationship CRM and comfort administering data standards
• U.S. Eastern time or a good portion of your hours aligned with our working time zone.

Helpful, not required:

• Law firm or legal services operations background
• Exposure to M&A transaction process, deal desk, or contract administration
• Experience inside a partner-led business

WHO THIS ROLE ISN’T FOR

• If you want to redesign the operating system rather than run it week after week, you will be bored here.
• If you disengage when people don’t comply and let the system do the confronting for you, this role will fail.
• If the appeal is a path into origination or deal execution, that is not on offer.
• If a job whose central function is enforcing consistency sounds tedious to you, trust that instinct.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

1. The operating cadence. - Leadership and department meetings ran, held, and recorded. Agendas distributed, scorecards fully populated before and every assigned task and priority tied to a company initiative and quarterly goal.
2. Pipeline operations integrity. - CRM hygiene and stage velocity as a managed system: a current interaction logged on every active deal, stage violations surfaced automatically, and stale inventory driven down.
3. Team coordination and capacity protection. - Task closure tracked and enforced. Capacity limits are accessed and honored. No critical function left with a single point of failure and no backup. We’re building to scale and you’ll be responsible for redundancy implementation.
4. Leadership optimization - Every new “yes” logged alongside the “no” it displaces. Priority changes announced in the room and rather than absorbed quietly. A monthly compliance report that lands on the founders’ desks without anyone asking for it.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a fractional Director of Operations that owns the firm’s operating discipline: the cadence, the pipeline data, the paper trail, and the follow-through on all firm projects.
